Scoring X01 with Score Darts for iOS

  1. Voice Scoring
  2. Total Score Keypad
  3. Each Dart Keypad
  4. X01 General Rules

1. Voice Scoring

Once enabled in device settings (Settings > Apps > Score Darts), tap the mic button (top right) to enable / disable listening for scores in game.

When the mic icon is green, listening is active. Listening is automatically deactivated at times when the app is not waiting for a user's score.

Voice Commands

Scoring with Total Score
Command Notes
"Score XX" Follow the word "SCORE" with your total score for 3 darts, eg "SCORE 180".
"Double Miss" Records a missed double for your stats. Note, not needed for 'Each Dart' mode (below), which auto-records missed doubles.
"Delete" This deletes a recorded 'double miss' (if one was called this turn).
Scoring with Each Dart
Command Notes
"Hit XX" Follow the word "HIT" with the SEGMENT you hit with one dart, eg:
- "HIT 20"
- "HIT double / treble 20"
- "HIT inner / outer bull" ("HIT bullseye" also works for inner bull).
A beep will sound when the app is ready for your next dart.
Repeat for each dart in your turn.
"Miss" This records the miss of an individual dart - equivalent of saying "HIT 0"
"Delete" This deletes the last hit or miss before score is finalised.
General Commands
Command Notes
"Bust" Enters a score of zero.
"Outshot" Speaks the outshot (if available).
"Game shot" Enters the required score to win the game (if available).
"Undo" Reverts to the previous score.
"Redo" Reinstates any score which was just undone.

You can switch between voice scoring with total score or each dart at any time. Just speak the relevant command and the app will do the rest.

Please always speak clearly - due to limitations of speech recognition, the app may occasionally mishear you. Limiting any background noise will help alleviate this.

2. Total Score Keypad

(Note, you can switch between total score mode and each dart mode in-game by tapping the small scoring window. Or change the default mode for each player by editing in the player centre).

In total score mode, just enter your total score and tap enter to record the score.

The app keeps track of averages and high scores. It also keeps track of shots at doubles. To accurately record your doubles percentages, tap the missed double button (next to delete) once for every missed shot at a double on a player’s turn before hitting Enter.

If you have gone bust, just hit enter without entering a score (or enter a score of zero).

The undo feature will allow you to remove the previous score entered, it will also remove any missed doubles recorded during the previous turn.

3. Each Dart Keypad

(Note, you can switch between each dart mode and total score mode in-game by tapping the small scoring window. Or change the default mode for each player by editing in the player centre).

In each dart mode, you tap the number you just hit (or 25 for outer bull, 50 for inner bull). You will then be able to select 'single', 'double', or 'treble' - just tap again to confirm what you hit. To speed things up and avoid tapping twice, just hold your finger on the number you hit and you can drag and release on the appropriate option.

When 3 darts are detected (or when either a game is won or bust is detected), the score will be finalised and entered automatically.

You can tap the delete button to remove one dart before the 3rd dart is entered.

Doubles percentages are automatically calculated in this scoring mode. When a double is available to finish the game, the app assumes you will target it (because why wouldn't you, right?)

The undo feature will allow you to remove the previous score entered (all 3 darts).

4. X01 General Rules

Each player starts with x01 points, and takes it in turns to throw 3 darts at the board. The number of points collected during a turn is subtracted from the player's points. The winner is the player who reaches zero first.

To reach zero, a player must hit a double with their final dart.

If a player scores more points than they have left (or if they hit a score which leaves them with 1 point), the score is invalid and they are 'bust'.

If you are new to darts see our complete guide to scoring X01.
